Finnish folk/pagan metal band MOONSORROW will embark on a headlining tour of Canada this November. Support on the trek will come from rising black metallers UTLAGR and French folk band LES BATARDS DU NORDS (aka BASTARDS OF THE NORTH).
The dates are as follows:
Nov. 16 - London @ the Embassy Nov. 17 - Toronto @ The Wreckroom Nov. 18 - Sudbury @ The Serbian Center Nov. 19 - Chicoutimi @ The Bunker Nov. 20 - Quebec @ L'Anti Nov. 21 - Montreal @ Plaza Theatre Nov. 22 - Saint-Hyacinthe @ The Thrash Bar
MOONSORROW released its new EP, "Tulimyrsky" (Firestorm), on April 30 via Spikefarm Records. The CD contains over 60 minutes of music, including a cover version of METALLICA's "For Whom The Bell Tolls".
The band's latest album, "Viides Luku – Hävitetty", came out in North America in April 2007 via Unruly Sounds/The End Records. The CD — 56 minutes of music comprised from two songs — continues to place the group as one of the forerunners of the folk/viking metal scene due in part to their extensive use of folklore and pagan elements in their music and imagery.
