I would have to say: "Yes - I like some/most of it". I do prefer other music but some tunes are actually quite thoughtful and have good lyrics in explaining something important. (Which is how a rap/hip hop tune made it to "video of the month"). There are some great songs out there but there are also some which are terrible (in my ears, lolz).
Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the genre, but I can admit that there are a number of good tracks and artists within it. For example, while I'm not into Rap at all, I can appreciate Eminem and Cypress Hill. I think Eminem's lyrics are excellent. One of the things that really drew my attention to Eminem was that he sampled an Aerosmith song ("Dream On") in one of his tracks.
It's for a similar reason that I also have respect for Run DMC. If they hadn't have recorded that version of "Walk This Way" with Aerosmith then I probably would never have listened to them.
Also, I've recently become interested in Xzibit because he featured on "Stand" by Alice Cooper (on Alice's "Dirty Diamonds" album).
